Technically, filters require
spot-on light transmission characteristics and absolute batch-to-batch colour
consistency. CJ products are now recognised as market leading in both quality
and longevity, complying with stringent British Standards. As a result, it is very often our
filter films you see helping to create special effects in many of the most
progressive TV and film studios around the world.
Chris James filters are
based on
a tough polymeric film, coated with a dyed lacquer, to the highest standard of
accuracy. The formulae are designed to exploit the high
fade-resistance, colour saturation and hue of individual dyes, which allows
their extended use in environments of high light intensity and
temperature, This, together with fire resistance to BS3944:1991 pt 1,
produces a range that is unequalled.
In addition it is important that the Lighting Director has all the information
necessary to
make his decisions. Chris James filters can provide all the technical data
necessary, such as
Percent Transmission, Maximum Absorption at Wavelength R, Colour Temperature,
Mired Value, and Stop Value. Also colour can be defined in colour space
co-ordinates:
Tristimulus Value(XYZ), CieLab(Lab), or CMC(LcH) and Metamerism for various
light
sources.
Research and Development -The team of highly qualified chemists at our own
Research & Development facility are the company's future. Here ideas are
initiated, then researched, developed and after rigorous testing come to fruition
as a new product.
Quality Control -Quality Control procedures include a colour management system
that was first in the industry and ensures consistent colour time after time.
After thorough testing each reel is accompanied by a Spectro-photometric Curve
and and Colour Space Analysis. Finally, each product is checked by the most
sensitive colour analysing device known, the human eye.
Manufacture -We are among the world leaders in film coating technology, coating
several million square metres a year in our manufacturing plant of over two
acres, using purpose designed, high technology coating machinery. Our industry
leading computer control assures consistent colours reel after reel. Our filter
products are manufactured to British Standard 3944.
Conversion -The flexibility of our conversion department can allow customers to
specify roll lengths and sheet size.
Delivery -Delivery of the finished products is made by the fastest means available, either by our own transport division, or if necessary, the use of a carrier.
